NPFL Wrap: Rivers, Plateau United Record Away Wins As Rangers Hold 3SC

Rivers United and Plateau United continued their push to win the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title after recording away wins on Wednesday.
League leaders, Rivers United maintained top spot on the table after edging out Kano Pillars 1-0 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
Forward Nyima Nwagua scored the winning goal against his former club 20 minutes from time.
Plateau United stunned Lobi Stars 2-0 at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi with Chimezie Izuchukwu and Albert Hilary scoring the goals.
Champions Akwa United beat Wikki Tourists 2-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
In Aba, Victor Mbaoma scored against his former club Remo Stars, who lost 2-1 against Enyimba.
Mbaoma put the former champions ahead in the 37th minute.
Ekene Awazie equalized for the visitors five minutes after the break, while Junior Nduka scored the winning goal for Enyimba from the spot 20 minutes from time.
In Lafia, Nasarawa United rallied back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Kwara United as Alao Danbani’s 19th minute strike was cancelled out by Michael Tochukwu.
MFM boosted their survival hopes with a 1-1 away draw against Niger Tornadoes, while Sunshine Stars outclassed Heartland 3-1.
Gombe United pipped Abia Warriors 1-0 at the Pantami Stadium, though Katsina United recorded the biggest win of the day thrashing Dakkada 4-1 at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
